Google Sign-in Error: "Access blocked: Your institution’s admin needs to review Snap! Mobile

Google Sign-in Error: "Access blocked: Your institution’s admin needs to review Snap! Mobile"

TL;DR (Quick Fix for Users)

If you see this error when signing in with your school Google account:

  • Fastest: Sign up manually or use a personal Google account.

  • Or click Request Access and wait for your school admin to approve (can take time).

See below for Google Workspace Admins.

Overview

This error appears when your school uses Google Workspace for Education and hasn’t approved Snap! Mobile for use with school accounts.

Why This Happens

School Google accounts often block unapproved third-party apps. Until your school’s admin approves Snap! Mobile, sign-in attempts with your school email will fail.

How to Fix as a User

  1. Request Access

    • Click Request Access on the error screen.

    • Wait for your school admin to review and approve (could take days).

  2. Create an Account Manually

    • Go back to login, choose Sign up, and set a password.

  3. Use a Non-School Google Account

    • Sign in with a personal Gmail instead of your school email.

Tip: If you need urgent access, option #2 (manual account creation) or option #3 (using a personal email) is the fastest workaround while waiting for admin approval.
