How to Update Scores on the Dashboard and At The Game Level

Managing game scores within the platform is a straightforward process, but there are a few key steps to ensure that everything is updated properly. This article walks you through how to update scores both from the Dashboard and the Game Level.

Accessing the Dashboard

To update scores, the easiest way is to start from the Dashboard. Here's how you can access it:

  1. If you are not already on the Dashboard, Click the Snap Logo: In the top left-hand corner of the portal. This will return you to the dashboard which is your central hub for managing games and scores.

  2. Dashboard Overview:

    • Today's Games: All games scheduled for the day.
    • Upcoming Games: Future games scheduled for later dates.
    • Recent Games: Completed games that are ready for score input.

Quick Score Input from the Dashboard

  1. Recent Games:

    • If a game has been completed, it will show up in the Recent Games section. You can quickly update scores here without navigating to individual game pages.

IMPORTANT - Games will not appear in completed game sections until the day following the scheduled game date.

    • To input scores for a completed game, click the Actions button next to the game and select Edit Stats.
  1. Edit Stats:

    • Enter the Score, Opponent Score, and Outcome (win, loss, or tie).
    • Click Save once you’ve input all the necessary information. This action will finalize the score and mark the game as completed.

Updating Scores from Your Phone

For quick updates, especially during or after the game, you can use your phone to input scores directly from the app. Simply log in and follow the same steps to input scores in Recent Games.

Moving Games to Recent Games

Games will not automatically appear in the Recent Games section until certain conditions are met:

  1. Game Completion: Games will only shift to Recent Games once they have finished.
    • If a game is still ongoing, it will stay in the Upcoming Games section.
  2. Manual Update: If the game has finished but hasn’t moved to Recent Games yet, you can manually update the score:
    • Go to the game in the Upcoming Games section.
    • Click into the game, then enter the Score, Opponent Score, and Outcome in the Stats box.
    • Save the changes to mark the game as complete.

Score Formatting

It’s important to enter the score in the correct format to ensure it’s displayed accurately:

  • Opponent Score: Always enter both your team’s and the opponent’s scores.
  • Outcome: Specify whether the result is a win, loss, or tie. This will automatically update the team's record.

Currently, the platform uses a Home/Away format for scheduling.

Updating Scores in Special Cases

Some sports have specific score formats that need to be taken into account:

  • Ties: In sports like soccer, you can record a 0-0 tie or a non-zero tie if the game ended in a draw.
  • Extra Innings: For sports like baseball, you may need to record scores such as 11-11 for a game that went into extra innings.

These scores should display properly, but they depend on the Sport Type selected during game setup.

Final Tips

  • Stay Consistent: Make sure to enter both the team and opponent scores correctly. This ensures the accuracy of team records and stats.
  • Check the Game Status: If the game is still showing as upcoming but has already been completed, check the game’s stats and manually save the outcome.

By following these steps, you can quickly and easily update scores directly from the Dashboard or Game Level in the portal.
