Troubleshooting Adding a Payment Method: Bank Account

Spend PNG

Having trouble adding a bank account? Here are some rare scenarios you might encounter:

Not Receiving a Microdeposit: Linking Account/Routing Numbers

When linking account and routing numbers for a bank account, depending on your financial institution, this deposit should be received within 24 hours but can take up to 2-3 business days. Please keep in mind that holidays and weekends may also affect the timing. Once you receive it, log back in to Snap! Spend to verify.

Linked Bank Name Does Not Match

In rare cases, you may receive the following error message when attempting to add a bank account:

What does this mean?

Our system is integrated with Plaid, a platform that connects with users’ bank accounts. This message is a Plaid error message, meaning the name on the bank account does not match the name on your Snap! Mobile account. This can happen if you set up your Snap! Mobile account under your player's name instead of your own.

**Please note: This is not the player’s name. The name on the account should be the bank account holder's name only. There is a separate space for the player’s name.**

Resolution:

You will need to update your Snap! Mobile account name to reflect the name of the bank account holder in order to resolve this. To change the name on your Snap! Mobile account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to accounts.snap.app to log in
    2. You will then be on a profile page. Enter correct parent name/payer name
    3. Click Save
    4. Click on tile icon on upper right-hand corner and select 'Snap! Spend'
    5. Proceed with accessing or signing up for your Snap! Spend account
